Burgundy, Gevrey-Chambertain

This lovely Appellation (wine region and village) is so exclusive that it was the denomination served at the table of King Louis Philippe and Napoleon. Lovely wines and people. Actually, wineries don’t allow visits, their wines are presold. Displayed one of their traditional dishes “Oeufs en Meurette” Délicieux.

Burgundy-Pommard “Chateau de Pommard”

Chateaux de Pommard is an iconic Domain in the Burgundy wine region. It is situated in the Village of Pommard. They produce these lovely wines whose characteristic demonstrate the impact if the soil and the “terroir” in the wines. They produce Pinot Noir in six different plots in their Domain and the wines all have different characteristics although it’s the same grape. Displayed are the 6 different soils. Amazing!

Burgundy Volnay “Domain Saison-Rossignol”

Volnay, the wine that changed my perspective of food and wine. This is it, where I declared my unconditional love for wine. Volnay is a small Medieval village in Burgundy. The expression of Pinot Noir in its wine subtle, generally lighter and described by many as a feminine wine. The Rossignol family greeted us fabulously even having arrived without prior notice. Merci Beaucoup famille!

Burgundy Vosne-Romanée “Domaine Rion”

This may be the most prestigious Appellation in Burgundy and Domain Rion definitely demonstrates exactly why. Superb wines. We hit the vines to help understand the magic that turns a simple grape into a masterpiece.

Merci Beaucoup Alice.

Burgundy Morey-Saint-Denis “Domain Des Loups”

Ladies and gentlemen. Once in a while you get a chance to step into history. I’ve had the pleasure of tasting one of my favorite wines from a young and extremely talented winemaker Guillaume from Domain Des Loups. Bright future awaits my friend à bientôt.

Burgundy-Beaune “Domaine Coudurier-Jung”

Gratitude, those are the first words that come to mind when I mention this Domain. David and family are the nicest friendliest people you can imagine. Their wines are marvelous and I have personally learned a lot about winemaking with him and my friend Alex Merci à tout.
