Updated: Dec 6, 2021

Last we spoke of the history of wine we mentioned the Etruscans. The Etruscan civilization was the most impressive civilization in Western Europe before the Romans, from 9th Century BC to the 1st Century BC. Although they were the first to introduce Viticulture to Italy and other Nomadic tribes who were still ignorant of this beverage, they were the Proteges of the original wine masters of Europe, the Greeks. Ok so, that's another 900 years which puts us close to 4,000 years of the history of wine at this point in History.

An interesting fact about wine is that since its origins, wine has been associated with religious symbolism and ritual consumption. The Greeks have been making wine since the late Neolithic period. That is, 4,000BC, that's 2,000 more years of history, this would get us to 6,000 years to the time of the Greeks. But who thought the Greeks, who could have been so ahead of the great Greek civilization? The answer is Egypt, that's where the trail ends. The first documents in the History of mankind 8,000 BC were actually inventories of Wine and Beer.

In conclusion, wine is as old as mankind, it has coexisted with humanity since man collected berries and the juice in the bottom of the vessel of recollection fermented. So, let's continue to Learn about wine, cook great food and lose weight. It's only Human.

God bless everyone!
